Ghost Hunt at Ashbourne Town Hall - 20th March 2027

£40.00

Built in 1861 in an impressive Italianate ashlar-stone style, the Town Hall stands on the foundations of the former 17th-century Talbot Inn. But the history of this site stretches back much further, with connections to a devastating town fire in 1252 and even a visit from Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745.

However, it isn't just history that makes this building so intriguing. There are those who believe some of its former occupants have never really left.

THE SPIRIT OF TOM FEARN

Perhaps the most well-known paranormal association is that of Tom Fearn, who tragically lost his life in 1930 when a heavy firebell mechanism fell on him.

His presence is said to have been experienced near the brass memorial dedicated to him inside the building.

Could Tom still be making his presence known to those who visit?

WHAT MIGHT WE ENCOUNTER?

The Ballroom and Council Chambers have been the focus of reports of unexplained footsteps, disembodied voices, shadow figures and sudden drops in temperature.

The building's cellars and attic offer an altogether different atmosphere. Blocked stone spiral staircases lead down towards the old Talbot Inn cellars, where reports include unexplained knocking, slamming doors and even disembodied screams.

Even the restroom areas haven't escaped the stories, with visitors reporting strange male energy and unexplained shadows.

From the grand rooms above to the darker corners below, there are plenty of questions waiting to be answered.

We'll be exploring this historic building using a variety of paranormal investigation equipment and techniques, giving you the opportunity to experience the investigation for yourself.

Whether you're an experienced investigator or completely new to the paranormal, you'll be made welcome.

Will we hear footsteps when nobody is walking? Will something respond to our questions? Could Tom Fearn make his presence known?

Or perhaps something else entirely is waiting for us.
