Dating back to the 1830s, this historic building has a long and varied history. Originally built as a place for social gatherings and community life, the building has seen many different uses over the years, including a courtroom, holding cells and even a mortuary.

But it seems that not everyone who once walked these corridors has moved on.

A Building With a Haunted Past

Since September 2012, staff have reported a series of strange and unexplained occurrences throughout the building. Experiences have included:

  • Overwhelming feelings of fear and unease.
  • Objects seemingly moving on their own.
  • Unexplained footsteps and mysterious noises.
  • Glasses smashing without explanation.
  • Lights switching on and off.
  • Strange orbs appearing.

Among the reported spirits are an executioner, a young girl named Emily and a young Victorian boy.

With so many fascinating and reportedly haunted areas, there will be plenty to investigate throughout the night.

We will have access to:

  • Emily's Room – Could we make contact with the young girl said to haunt the building?
  • The Portrait Room – Surrounded by faces from the past, who might be watching us?
  • The Old Nursery – A place where the presence of a young Victorian boy may still be felt.
  • The Stable Master's Room – Step back in time and see what might be waiting.
  • The Black Widow Room – A room with an intriguing and unsettling atmosphere.
  • The Haunted Objects Museum – Surrounded by objects with their own stories, could any hold something more than memories?
  • The Victorian Séance Parlour – An opportunity to explore traditional methods of spirit communication.
  • The Old Cellar and Morgue – Perhaps two of the most intriguing and atmospheric areas of the building.
  • The Bar – Another space to investigate and see whether anything makes its presence known.

Whether you're an experienced paranormal investigator or completely new to the world of ghost hunting, this is your opportunity to join us for a night of exploration, experimentation and the unexplained.

One thing is certain: the history of this building gives us plenty to investigate!
